Hospital Policies
Appointment Policy
All patients with internal medicine problems are welcome. Although a referral from your veterinarian is preferred, clients who know their pet has an internal medicine problem can refer themselves. In all cases, the client will need to call and make an Initial Consultation appointment before any procedures can be performed.
We do require the medical history be sent over prior to the Initial appointment. Records can be sent via fax to 253-475-5926 or e-mail to technicians@vmrctacoma.com. Radiographs can also be sent via e-mail or with the lab courier. Your referring veterinarian will know how to send these.
Please come 15 minutes early for this appointment to allow time to enter your information in our computer system. You can complete this paperwork and bring it with you by clicking on Make an Appointment.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, 24 hours notice is appreciated. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may incur a cancellation fee. |
Patient Arrival Policy
For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms.
All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash. |

Privacy Policy
At Veterinary Medical Referral Service, we take your personal information and your pet's privacy very seriously. Because of this commitment, we do not keep credit card numbers on file. If you need to make a one-time payment by phone, please contact the office to do so.
When you arrive for your Initial Consultation with Dr. Comer, you will be asked to fill out a Medical Release Form. This authorizes our staff to discuss your pet's treatment with only the individuals and clinics you would like to be kept updated. If you authorize your referring clinic to be kept updated, Dr. Comer will send a referral letter (a summary of your pet's treatment) to his or her referring doctor. Please make sure to help us keep this form up-to-date so that we may release your pet's information to the appropriate parties. |
Payment Policy
We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, cash and personal checks. |
